I carry your heart with me by E.E Cummings
"I carrry your heart with me," by E.E. Cummings is an extended metaphor not meaning what actually is written. Obviously, the author doesn't mean that he carries someones heart with them everywhere they go this action would be impossible . I think that it means that a man loves a woman no matter what they go through or what happens between them. I think that it also means he loves her thinks about her even when they are miles apart, This poem includes several poetic devices. There is repetition in lines one and fourteen, "I carry your heart." Although this is considered to be a free verso poem, in stanza three knows and grows rhyme. Cummings also includes personification in his poem, in stanza three he wrote about the sun singing. I really enjoyed this poem i thought Cummings used good wording and I liked how he had a meaning behind what he wrote. This poem was great, I thought it was meaningful and I am excited to read more of his work.
I carry your heart with me(I carry it in my heart)I am never without it(anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by me is your doing, my darling) I fear No fate(for you are my fate, my sweet) I want no world(for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will sing is you
her is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
