April Rain Song By Langston Hughes
"April Rain Song," by Langston Hughes is about a spring time, rain storm and Hughes is explaining his thoughts on the season of spring. This poem uses many poetic devices, such as personification, "let the rain sing you a lullaby," this is an example of personification because singing is a human ability. Another poetic device is repetition "the rain" is repeated in almost every line. This poem I can relate to because I also love the rain, because usually when it rains it means no more snow for that year. Another reason I like this poem is because it uses so much personification, and all my favorite poems includes personification. This is my favorite poem by Langston Hughes that I've read and i'm excited to read more of his work.

Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.
